Roy Berkowitz has attended Unity since 1990 and has presented inspirational messages since 1996 to UCDC, his home church, as well as Unity centers throughout Virginia.
A long time HIV educator and mental health counselor, he retired in 2017 and continues to consult and volunteer in the healthcare field working with safety net programs and health departments. Roy is a produced and published playwright, using Unity principles as the arc of his character’s journeys.
Caywood Black has been part of Unity Center DC since its founding. In 2015 he was licensed as a Unity Teacher. His own education included degrees from Northwestern and UVA and two fellowships from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Caywood is a long-time meditation student of Roy Eugene Davis at the Center for Spiritual Awareness in Lakemont, Georgia. Professionally he has been a teacher, speaker, and coach for over 40 years.
As Caywood would have it, all teaching is about empowering others to live their best lives.
Rev. Sandra Butler has been an ordained Unity minister for 17 years and was a minister at Unity of Fairfax for eight years. She is a transitional consultant with Unity Worldwide Ministries, specializing in guiding ministries in times of transition and considers herself a bridge to transformative change. Her current passion is learning and teaching about practical metaphysics.
Rev Theresa Crisci is a Licensed Unity Teacher from Unity of Norwalk in Connecticut, an Interfaith Minister from One Spirit Learning Alliance, a prayer chaplain, author, teacher, coach and speaker. Theresa has owned her own wellness business, Total Balance Life Choice, since 1993, providing chair massage and wellness classes to corporations throughout Connecticut. Rev Chris DiGiorgio is a transformative spiritual teacher and ordained Unity Minister. He has led many workshops on spirituality and meditation. He is group leader of Unity Pride, a gay men’s spiritual discussion group in New York City. In September 2020, Rev. DiGiorgio started Westchester Spirituality and New Thought group, a Zoom Ministry which is held at 5:00 PM every Sunday. He has a podcast called the New Thought Experience and has a diverse spiritual background and is a student of Her Holiness Sai Maa, Meredith Young Sowers and Stephen Thomson.
Rev Cheryl Fare is an ordained Unity Minister, Certified Enneagram Coach and Master of Fine Arts. She has a passion for Unity Principles, and shares openly how using practical Truth teachings have guided her through several exceptional life challenges. Cheryl serves on the Interfaith & Intercultural Connections Team and the LUT Ministry Team for Unity Worldwide Ministries; she leads Silent Unity Prayer Services on the Unity World Headquarters Facebook page; and she serves as the President of the Board for Unity’s Eastern Region. Rev Carole Frampton is an ordained interfaith minister, trained at the One Spirit Learning Alliance in New York. She went on to study two more years, completing a Christian seminary program in Lausanne Switzerland. She however doesn’t officiate as a minister, simply enjoys giving Talks when asked. She draws inspiration from her reading, life experiences and many years of personal development. She particularly resonates with Adler’s individual psychology or “psychology of courage”.
Professionally, she has worked for more than twenty years in peacebuilding in Africa and in the US, to now be based in Switzerland. She works for a private foundation, supporting peace champions (mostly international and local civil society organisations) go through participatory change processes so they can be more effective, value-aligned and sustainable agents of change. She lives with her husband and three daughters near Geneva Switzerland.
Rev Karen Gray is an Interfaith Minister providing inspirational messages, prayer and spiritual support, weddings and sacred services to the Washington DC community.

Rev Vernelle Nelson. Unity Minister, is currently serving with of Unity Golden Life Ministries in Tamarac Florida, Rev Vernelle is an ordained Unity Minister originally from Washington DC! Through UGLM, Rev. Vernelle teaches classes in person and online, and facilitates workshops, seminars and retreats throughout the US. She is also on the faculty of Unity Urban Ministerial School and president of the Unity Urban Ministerial School Alumni Association.
Rev. Sherrie Quander received her ministerial credential from Centers for Spiritual Living in October 2003 and was ordain in March of 2009. She spent the first five years of her ministerial career as a Staff Minister at the Granada Hills Center for Spiritual Living in Granada Hills, California, where she was a member for twelve years. In April of 2008 Rev. Sherrie accepted a position as Assistant Minister and in 2010 she became the Senior Minister at Center for Spiritual Living-Mobile in Mobile, Alabama where she served for more than seven years.
Cheryl Welsh-Charrier has been a member of Unity Center DC, through all its changes, since 1993, including being the church’s office manager for 10 years. She was introduced to A Course in Miracles at Unity Center DC, participating in a study group for 5 years, as well as studying Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible and Metaphysics with Rev. Lafayette Seymour for 2 years. She and her husband have hosted several study groups at their home, and both have been active members of the choir and the prayer team for many years.
