Kelly Smith JonesKelly Smith Jones has performed in a wide variety of musical styles. She has performed with Wolf Trap Opera Company, New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Washington Concert Opera, Summer Opera Theatre, and Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia, and more recently has sung in concert at the Great American Songbook Hall of Fame and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Kelly has appeared in Die Zauberflöte, Carmen, Orpheus, La Bohème, L’elisir d’amore, La clemenza di Tito, Dardanus, Street Scene, Xerxes, Otello, I Puritani, Louisa Miller, and Il Tabarro/Cavelleria Rusticana, Little Women, Cosi fan tutte. Favorite roles have included Marguerite in Faust, Adele in Die Fledermaus, Nannetta in Falstaff, Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro, Alexandra in Regina, Catherine in Washington Square, Mabel in Pirates of Penzance, and Lucia in Rape of Lucretia. Kelly has served as Vocal Instructor at The National Cathedral and The Madeira School and Director of Education and Community Outreach for the Opera Theatre of Northern Virginia. In addition to being an Adjunct Instructor, she maintains a private studio and enjoys teaching vocal styles from Opera to Contemporary Commercial Music. Kelly completed her Master of Music degree at Manhattan School of Music, where she was featured as Phoebe in the World Premiere and Albany Records recording of The House of the Seven Gables. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from The Boston Conservatory.
